This page is in loving memory of Max Hilleard who sadly died very suddenly on 15th August 2019. Max was the much-loved only son of Kate Mercer and Gil Hilleard, who were lucky enough to enjoy his infectious enthusiasm and love for life, travel, tennis and music for 25 wonderful years. Max's caring, gentle nature, sense of fun, and wacky sense of humour made him a joy to live and work with, and he is sadly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and wider community. Recently, Max had developed his talent for and interest in live music, broadcasting online, and singing at local open mic events in Oxfordshire. He had recently recorded his own composition, 'Fade Away', and had wide ranging plans for more composition, music exams, live gigs and recordings. Everything he did in life, he did with enormous and unstoppable determination. He died at a time when he was flying high in everything he undertook, and despite our sadness at his passing, there is nevertheless comfort in knowing that for him, at the time, everything was just perfect!

To such a wonderful guy who I met on our level 3 tennis coaching course back in 2018. I’m so shocked and saddened to hear this tragic news which I only found out yesterday when I returned to the White Horse where Max used to work as a fantastic tennis coach. RIP Max - you will be sorely missed by so many! x
